The collection of ceramist and interior designer Ann Van Beersel for Artisann is a collection in which the turntable is an important instrument. My collection radiates imperfection and each cup is handcrafted differently and finished with care. 

The porcelain collection "My circles" is made of Audrey Blackman porcelain and is finished with a glossy transparent glaze.

When turning the cup, in the final phase I put more pressure on my fingers to create a wavy effect in the bag.

My work is labeled with the shaped “a” of artisann and is patented.

Making process

• The cup is rotated with the turntable
• Is turned from the bottom with the appropriate instruments on the turntable
• Let it dry for one week to make sure the cup is dry
• A biscuit bake in a 950° oven which lasts at least one day and a half
• Is glazed by hand and brush
• Is fired in a glaze kiln at 1250° and lasts two days.

The high-sided baking is possible because the porcelain is resistant to this high temperature. I also designed the glaze recipe specifically for a baking of 1250° and it is unique.

Easy to maintain, dishwasher safe and high temperature resistant.
